If you vacation with another family then consider one of the luxurious larger villas and share the expense. The larger homes sometimes have additional amenities. Another super addition
that some homes afford are those with a hot tub jacuzzi. After a hectic day at the parks what better way to relax your tired and weary legs than in a warm massaging spa? Then pour
your margarita and watch the sun go down as it dances and sparkles over your private pool.
There are some great deals around especially at the last minute although of course if you book in advance then you can choose exactly the dates, facilities and area of your choice. Don't
be shy ask the villa owner or villa rental company if they give any incentives you may be pleasantly surprised.
To avoid disappointment do your homework. Check out the area that you are considering to visit and make sure that it safe and recommended for families. Check out when the home was
built. If you are shown photos of the proposed villa when were they taken? A superbly decorated model home may be somewhat jaded several years after the photos were snapped.
Of course Disney World in Florida is a great vacation destination. Super theme parks, incredible selection of food for every palate, predominately warm and sunny weather and a
wonderful selection of the most beautiful and best appointed villas any where in the world.
OTHER IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS:
1. Make sure that the villa holds a current licence - you will then know that it is regularly inspected and conforms to all county and state health, fire and security rules and regulations.
2. Use Mapquest or similar to ascertain exact location of your villa. A broad description such as 'Disney is ten minutes away' may not be exactly truthful unless you are travelling on the
NASA shuttle.
3. How is the pool heated during winter months? Be aware that if the pool is heated by solar panels that the water is generally only warm if the sun continues to shine every day. If you
want pool heat is it included in the rental rate quoted or is it additional and if so how much.
4. Are the exterior doors to the pool alarmed or is there a safety fence around the pool?
5. How deep is the pool and is it serviced and cleaned weekly by a licenced contractor? It is important that the pool chemicals are kept at the correct balance to maintain clean and clear
water
6. Does the management company caring for the home offer a service 24/7? It is a good idea to know that if you arrive back at the villa at 11pm and there is a real problem that you can
contact someone who can help.
7. Does the home have a security alarm system?
8. If required is it wheelchair accessible?
9. Will the villa key be at the villa or do you have to pick it up and drop it off somewhere else?
10. Are there sufficient chairs, towels and bedding for the number of people in your party. We have heard of a five bedroom villa only having two sofas and a chair which allowed only
six adults to sit in comfort which is not great if they are promoting the home as 'sleeping up to 12 people'.
11. If you have a baby in your family is there a crib, high chair etc?
12. Is the villa designated as non smoking?
13. Does the community in which the proposed villa is located offer any extras? Community pool, tennis, golf etc?
14. If you have young ones in your family and your flight is not until the evening is it possible to check out later in the day than the usual mid morning departure? In high season and
holiday periods this may not be possible as it is necessary to clean the home before the next family arrives. You may wish to consider booking the villa for an extra night so that you can
leave at leisure on your day of departure.
