Thank heavens maternity clothes have changed. In fact maternity wear has been subjected to a greater turn around that the P.C. revolution. The
barrage balloon tent dresses with lacy white puritan collars have been replaced by superb designer fashion.

At long last it is accepted that just because you are pregnant that you need not lose all fashion sense and succumb to the sweet 'Little House
on the Prairie' look. Why, for decades, this was the only fashion available for pregnant mothers is a complete mystery.

On reflection it is very strange that career women used to dressing in classically designed suits and dresses would, once knowing she was
pregnant, be content to peruse rack after rack of large shapeless clothes with sweetheart necklines. Decades of happy pregnant women
dutifully shopping for the 'Stepford' mother look. Content to be a cookie cutter identical twin to every other pregnant lady. Maybe it was
something to do with the hormones as it is a paradox why, when
mothers excitedly looking forward to the birth of their baby, seemed intent of covering up the fact that they were actually pregnant. It
somehow seemed indecorous to allow anyone to actually see their growing shape.

We believe that Demi Moore contributed somewhat to the current revolution. In 1991, famed celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz
photographed her for the front cover of Vanity Fair magazine. She showed to a shocked  world her beautiful naked and pregnant body of
which, quite rightly, she was very proud. It was a long awaited wake up call. Pregnancy was no longer something to be hidden under bolts of
fabric. At last you could be pregnant, beautiful, sexy and 'out there'.

Thankfully today there are wonderful designers which cater for real fashion during pregnancy. Smooth sleek transitional pieces ensure that you
can now look smart, fashionable and sexy instead of like a marquis, dressed in the old school 'BigTop' of fashion.

From sexy bras and foundation garments which still provide the very best of necessary support to neat jeans, figure hugging bump wrap
dresses and skinny tubes today's pregnant lady can look, glamorous, fabulous and fantastic in cool clothes designed for the modern woman.
