Are you the pretty little patent gem of a purse, the multi pocketed multi sectioned filing cabinet
bag, the knapsack person or you don't really care as long as a designer logo is visible?
A handbag is an extension of a right arm and thus needs to fulfill several criteria. From an
attractive sleeve to a smart cuff, bracelet or watch, rings and nails to the perfect conclusion a
smart, beautifully designed handbag.
Of course one also hopes to combine function as well but actually this is not such an easy task.
Most handbags seem to have immeasurable depths where, despite countless searches, the
elusive key remains hidden.
When I shop for a new handbag an inner battle wages. I see the lovely neat leather clutch bags
and dream for a few seconds that I could make it work, that all I really need is a lipstick and a
comb to see me through the day but then reality kicks in. Where would my voluminous makeup
bag go which incidentally is getting larger as the years roll on? The discreet blush and light
foundation have been joined by Pollyfilla and lip plumping creams.
What about all the little incidentals that I now haul around daily which, over the years, I have
found were pretty invaluable on that one occasion? That little sewing kit, eyeglass cleaner and
matches (just in case I am asked if I have a light, although I have never personally smoked). So
with a deep sigh I move onto the norm, leather, two or three pockets and black. I suppose that
places me firmly in the traditional, non adventurous, boring category and there I must remain
until I can find a small, beautiful version of Mary Poppins wondrous carpet bag.
